Travelling Maldives

Essential Information For Maldives

Seaplane Transfers in Maldives

Unlike speedboat transfers, seaplanes can only operate during daylight hours (06.00 to 16.00), which means if your international flight arrives later than 16.00 you will be transferred the following day.

The in-hold baggage allowance on seaplanes is 20 kg per person and the hand luggage allowance 5 kg per person. Excess baggage is charged at USD2-5 per kg (depending on the resort) by the seaplane company on check-in for your flight and this is compulsory due to safety reasons. Please check with individual resorts for more information.

Electricity and Sockets

Maldives' electricity supply is 230-240 volts, 50 Hz AC. Round-pin and square-pin plugs are both common.

“Our 4th visit to Sri Lanka, and the 3rd with Tikalanka. As has now become customary, the main question was “where do we go in addition to Buckingham Place”? After putting a number of suggestions to John to assess their viability, we decided to visit two national parks that we have not been to previously, separated by an overnight stop in Kandy, before heading to Buckingham Place for our rest and relaxation.”
